Charles F. Darst

Charles F. "Doc" Darst, 82, a native and lifelong resident of Vallejo, passed away at his home after a long illness.

He graduated from Vallejo High School in 1941. Doc served in World War II from 1942 to 1944 as a member of the United States Army.

Following his discharge he worked as a supervisor at C&H Sugar in Crockett for more than 38 years, retiring in 1981. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed traveling and camping in his RV. He was a former member of the Vallejo Elks Lodge #559 and the Vallejo Moose Lodge #468.

Doc is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margie of Vallejo, son Kevin (Shellyne) Darst of Vallejo, daughter Chris Darst of Reno and grandson Nicholas Darst.

At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo, (707) 552-6696.

Family prefers donations to St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School Baseball Program, 1500 Benicia Road, Vallejo, CA 94591.
