CARTHAGE EVENING PRESS
Death of Bessie Burlingame
Bessie E. Burlingame, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Burlingame, died Saturday evening at 8 o'clock after a brief illness resulting in heart failure. Miss Bessie was twenty years of age and had been a consistent and faithful member of the Episcopal church for eight years. She possessed a lovely character. While she had always been an invalid she was constantly cheerful and uncomplaining. In music she was quite accomplished, and about a year ago had received as a gift from her parents one of the handsomest of pianos upon which she performed with rare taste.
The funeral was held this afternoon at the family residence on south Main street impressively conducted by Rev. G. H. Bailey. Music was furnished by Mrs. McCrillis, Misses Tillie Wright and Emma Jones, Messrs. Wells and Sewall. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in Park Cemetery.
