Charles L. Ahart, 69, of RD 4 Hall Road, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Ahart was a native and life resident of Oswego. He was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Nicholas) Ahart. Mr. Ahart graduated from St. Mary's School and Oswego High School.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater. Prior to his retirement in 1984, Mr. Ahart was employed for 35 years at the Niagara Mohawk Steam Station.
Mr. Ahart was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Niagara Mohawk 25-Year Club, V.E.A., and the VFW Post 5885.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Pelton; two sons, William of Green Forest, Ark., and James of Scriba; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Cheryl) Trainor of Scriba; four brothers, Leonard and Neil of Oswego, Lawrence of Minetto and Robert of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Lawler of Auburn; six grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from Dowdle Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 204 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 154 E. Fourth St.
