REYNOLDS-On Tuesday, June 25, '89, Mary Reynolds, wife of G. U. Reynolds, and eldest daughter of the late Ely Moore of New York. Funeral services at her late residence, on Somerset street, Friday, June 28, at 11 o'clock a. m. Interment at Greenwood at the convenience of the family.
I have birth as Oct 24 1825 :
I have two sources for birth of October 4, 1825; Rev. John Moore book and the North American Family Histories; Ely, Revell and Stacye Families: page 236.
...Another member says 1827 is on tombstone, which I see, and says birth Oct 24 1827. BUT brother Hampden is born Jan 15 1828, so I doubt that she was born 1827. Census in 1850 and 1860 shows birth 1824, 1870 shows birth 1830, and 1880 shows 1827. Hampdens tombstone shows clearly Jan 15 1828, I am willing to believe tombstone on Mary is wrong as she may have not been clear about her birth ( women often said they were younger than they were)...
