Hershell Earl Mann, 78, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin and longtime resident of Indianapolis.

He was born April 18, 1924 in Waldron. His parents were Scott and Ola Mann. He married Mary Martha Chumbley on Sept. 28, 1943. She preceded him in death June 11, 2001. Survivors include a son, David Mann; a daughter, Lisa Mann; and three grandchildren. He as preceded in death by a brother.

He attended Waldron High School. He was employed by Allison Transmission, Division of General Motors. He retired Oct. 10, 1980. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis and North Park Lodge No. 646 F&AM of Indianapolis. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

A service will be conducted Saturday at Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Floral Park West Cemetery in Indianapolis.
