He was the husband of Judith H. (Mikkola) Eldridge.
He was a 1962 graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School and also graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Mr. Eldridge served in the Army during the Vietnam War in Korea. After his discharge, he joined the Army Reserve, 187th Infantry Brigade as a unit administrator, retiring after 25 years of service about two years ago. Since his retirement, he had continued to work as a civilian employee of the Army Reserve.
His hobby was guns and he was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Delana A. (Gifford) Eldridge of Middleboro; a brother, Robert I. Eldridge of Pittsburgh, Pa., and East Dennis; a niece; a grandniece; and a cousin.
