"... Valentine Schaffer (b. 12-31-1765 d. 12-1-1852) was the seventh child of Martin, and my great ancestor. He was a Tailor by trade, often having to move to find work. In 1787 he married Catherine Staub (d. 1842). They had five sons and five daughters. In 1805, Valentine moved his family to Leck Kill. Then in 1837 at age 71, he and his wife moved to Ringgold Twp., Jefferson County. He bought a 50 acre farm and lived there till he died. ..."
