This marker is not in it's original location. It was moved by the developer of the property in the early 80's. I saw it behind the "Daggett" residence a short distance away in the 70's. The rumor at the time was Jean Lafitte's wife was buried on the property. The husband of Eliza, Thomas Beaumont was a prominent dentist in Baton Rouge and allegedly an acquaintance of Jean Lafitte. To which I highly doubt.
