David A. Farison, 64, passed away Jan. 13, 2009, in Midland.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1944, in Edenville to Elry and Marion (Walsh) Farison.

David married Alma Harpster on Oct. 6, 1984, in Clare. He was a volunteer fireman at Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department, a youth supervisor for the DNR, mechanic and bus driver for Gladwin Community Schools, member of the Gladwin County Sheriff's Posse, mechanic and clerk at Meadow Lanes Bowling Alley in Gladwin. He was a member of Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121, past president of youth bowling as well as past president of the Gladwin County Bowling Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Farison of Beaverton; daughters, Diane (Bobby) Harris of Gladwin, Ann (Jim) Schaeffer of Clare; sons, Stanley Farison of Gladwin, David (Chrysta) Farison of Gladwin, Dan Hager of Gladwin, Aaron Farison of Beaverton; step-children, Joe (Dawn) Laidlaw of Gladwin and Wendy Laidlaw of New York; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Alta Hedrich of Beaverton, Leah Ruth Nimphie of Beaverton, Ione Grady of Brimley and Shirley Foreman of Gladwin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Douglas Farison, James and Robert Berthume; sisters, Ellen Ropp and Marge Stone.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Harold Owens and Pastor Robin Riggs officiating. He was laid to rest at Grout Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions will be used according to the family.
