William and Elizabeth were the parents of 5 known children.
Phillip William,George Winston,Joseph Sephas,James Allen, and Mary Abel/Abels who married Robert O. Rogers.

William was living in EBERNEZA,Holmes County,Mississippi when he enlisted on March 15,1862 at Lexington,MS.
William was wounded in the Neck and Shoulder at Corinth.
William was taken as a Prisoner of War at Vicksburg. After signing the OATH OF ALLIGIANCE, William was released on July 8, 1863. He immediately returned to duty with the CSA and was once again taken prisoner when the unit surrendered at CITRONELLE,AL on May 14,1865.
Lived to return home to 'what was left of his family and home' in Holmes County, Mississippi.
