Donald Louis Nicol was affectionately know as Smiley.He attended schools in
San Bernardino,California. High School in Tarkington,Texas and Waller,Texas.Donald was baptized on May 18,1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Hempstead,Texas by Pastor Laird Engle.He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor Laird Engle.
Donald joined the Navy in 1976 and received an Honorable Discharge.After the Navy,Donald made a living as a plumber for over 18 years and then as a boiler maker in chemical plants in order to work with his father and brother Ronald.
Donald was a very caring person and was especially passionate about his children.He had a likeable wit and was quite intelligent.He was a live and let live kind of guy.Donald was living near the Trinity River and enjoying fishing,crabbing and he was an exceptional hunter.He was bitten on the hand by a copperhead snake a few days before his death:he would not go to the doctor for treatment.This snake bite along with his defective heart and lungs ultimately caused his death.Donald had been crabbing with a friend the morning that he passed away at his home.
