ADDINGTON, Mrs. M.L. - {from The Bentonville Democrat} The sympathy of the entire community if extended to Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Covey and family on account of their recent bereavement in the death of Mrs. M.L. Addington, the mother of Mrs. Covey, and also on account of the severe sickness of the family. It will be gratifying to their many friends to learn that both Mr. and Mrs. Covey have nearly recovered from their illness and that their children are also greatly improved.

Lucinda Smith and William Riley Addington were married Jan 18, 1845, Gilmer Co, GA; Bk 1, Pg 238. They are in 1850 census of Union Co, GA, with two oldest daughters, Cynthia & Winney. William Riley Addington was born in 1822, the son of James Addington & Winifred Woodfin Addington. His parents are also in 1850 census of Union Co, GA. William Riley Addington died in May 1863 during the Civil War and is reportedly buried in an unmarked grave in Ft. Gibson, OK.
Note that a brother of Martha Lucinda Smith married a sister of William Riley Addington.
UPDATE a/o 8/3/2012: Only one more Addington child remains to be found and linked to parents:
- Robert Noel Addington, b 1857; believed to have died in OK in 1918.
