W C O'Barr Services Held

William Chester O'Barr, 55, a disabled veteran of World War II, died on Wednesday, Aug 6, at 11 pm at the Houston Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm on August 8 at the Houston Church of God. Interment was in Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. The Rev. John A Lombard, Sr., and Rev. Lonnie Hill officiated. Houston Funeral Home was in charge.

Pallbearers were John Woodall, Curtis Woodall, Bobby Naron, Robert Earnest, Don Howell, and John Higginbotham.

He was the son of Ed O'Barr and Susie Wooten O'Barr. He was born in Chickasaw County Aug 9 1919. He was a member of the Church of God and resided on Route 1 Woodland.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez Woodall O'Barr; one son, Dennis Dale O'Barr; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Meadows of Jasper, Al., Mrs. Willie Mae Miller of Gordo, Al., and Mrs. Melissa Ann Davidson of Winfield, Al.; one brother, Eddie Lee O'Barr of Houston; two sisters, Miss Virgie Mae O'Barr of Houston, and Mrs. Nettie Sue Beckham of Houston, Tx. Eight grandchildren also survive.
