Norman L. Fleming, 92, of Clarksburg, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A son of Harvey P. and Mary Z. Bergman Fleming, he was born Aug. 6, 1911, in Livermore, Pa.

Mr. Fleming was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lewisville and a life member of the VFW Post 1989, Indiana.

He was also a 64-year member of the Saltsburg American Legion post and a member of the Indiana County Farmers Association, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, Carpenters Union 2274, National Rifle Association and the 29th Division Association.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a farmer and as a carpenter in construction. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are a son, Norman D. and wife Sheila, of Clarksburg; two daughters, Norma Super, of Grand Lake, Colo., and Lucy Magalich and her husband David, of Lucernemines; six grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Glenn, of Blairsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jane Kelly Fleming, in 1996; three brothers: Wilmer, Alva and Paul, and two sisters: Naomi "Dot" Irwin and Anna Marie Hilliard.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville with Rev. Susan Lantz officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Lewisville. Military services were accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post 5821 and American Legion.
