BLOOMINGDALE - Mary Effie Green Collins, 91, of Bloomingdale, Ga., died Sunday, Oct 18,2009 at The Place in Pooler, under the care of Odyssey Health Care. She was born in Tattnall County, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Collins, her parents, Ezra and Olie Green; brother, E.W. Green, sisters, Mildred Lamb, Daisy Outier and Grace Pittman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale, Ga., and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was retired from Union Camp Paper Company, after 33 years of service in the Mill Technical Division. She is survived by a son, Andrew Martin Collins (Geneva E. Collins) of Bloomingdale, Ga; grandson, Andrew Michael Collins Sr., granddaughter, Terri Elizabeth Collins Clemmons (Chris); one great grandson, Andrew Michael Collins, Jr., and one step great granddaughter, Jessica Waldhour; brother, Palmer Green (Lavieda) of Daisy, Ga; 2 sisters, Christine Rich of Cobbtown, Ga; and Rosie Sanders of Bloomingdale, Ga; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale, Ga., with Rev. Darrell E.Bailey, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, at Collins, Ga., at 2 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Collins will be taken to the church to lie in state at 9 a.m. Thursday.
