On June 29, 1973, in Winthrop, he married Shirley Boynton, of Readfield.
He worked at Carlton Woolen Mill in Winthrop for 33 years, retiring in 1999. Herbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and making his own maple syrup and jams.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley, of Monmouth; his father, Herbert Crocker Sr., of Winthrop; four daughters, Vickie Burgess and her husband, Scott, of Monmouth, Tina Crocker, of Lewiston, Terri Strout and her husband, Darren, of Auburn, and Tracy Crocker and her companion, Harry Buck, of Turner; five sons, Mike Crocker and his wife, Moe, of Monmouth, Pete Crocker and his companion, Jodie Hinkley, of Turner, Glen Crocker and his wife, Michelle, of Litchfield, Cal Paquet, of Bowdoin, and Ron Crocker and his wife, Christina, of Monmouth; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leslie Crocker and his wife, Mary, of East Winthrop, Alan Crocker and his partner, Tom Lewis, of Augusta, David Crocker and his wife, Crystal, of Pittston, and Donald Crocker and his wife, Lillian, of Portland; and four sisters, Pearl Peterson and her husband, Nelson, of Readfield, Marcia Lewis and her companion, Rick Dunn, of Chesterville, Tammy Beland and her husband, Steve, of Winthrop, and Cindy Yarnes and her husband, Rick, of Kenai, Alaska.
He was predeceased by his mother, Olga Crocker; two brothers, Henry and Charles Crocker; and a sister, Bonnie Crocker.
