73, of 1499 Boy Scout Rd. died March 24, 1995, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sara Hinnant officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Cornwell, a retired painter, was born in Lincoln County, son of the late William and Berthie Tichie Cornwell. He was a World War II Army veteran and a Mason.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mable Heavner Cornwell; daughter, Ms. Beth Ingle; brother, Pete Cornwell; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
