She lived on the family farm south of Milberger. She was a homemaker. Rosa and Alvin moved to Russell from the farm in 1971.
Mrs. Elsasser was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving family include her sons Allen Elsasser of San Antonio, Texas, and Harlan Elsasser of Heyburn, Idaho; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin on June 2, 1995, daughter Elaine Machin on Jan. 27, 1995, five brothers, four sisters and one grandchild.
A celebration of Rosa's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary Chapel in Russell with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Russell. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary with the family present to greet visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Russell Regional Hospital and sent in care of the mortuary.
