Reason (Rezin) Franks was the son of Jacob Franck and Salome and was born in Fayette County, Pensylvania. He married Susannah Walser about 1821 and they had seven children: Anna Maria, Sara Eva, Anna Catherine, Peter D, Susan E, Martha Mary, and Jacob L. The Frank family came west after the birth of their daughter Sara and settled in Perry County, Ohio about 1825. Rezin Frank was a successful farmer in Thorn Township and they lived near the Allebaughs the in-laws of their oldest daughter Anna Maria.
