Robert's name appeared in an original survey of this cemetery but no marker has ever been found. Recently an application for CSA headstone was located. The application was dated 15 May 1933. Docuument states Cemetery #1.

Maj. R. M. Orrell No More

Maj. R. M. Orrell, for many years a resident of Fayetteville, but a Western man by birth, departed this life at his home in this city last Saturday, the 20th inst., aged about 71 years. By nature Maj. Orrell was genial, compassionable, and true to a friend, and his remains were followed to their last resting place by friends of many years, who sincerely mourn his death.

Many years ago he was connected for a while with the steamboat interests in this city and section, and later served as Postmaster of Fayetteville under Grant, Hayes, Garfield and Arthur.
