He was a residential electrician working for Paul Nichols & Company for many years. Prior to that he worked for O.B. Williams and Kent Sign Company.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Abbott was a member of the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2, 40 & 8th of Delaware and was a life member of the Camden VFW Post #3238.

He was very well known for and loved being Abe Lincoln in the 4th of July Parade in Dover.
