*As per a letter written by Ida in 1965 before she passed away in 1967:" My poor her father had a hard during his widowed years, and thought it better to emigrate and take the boys out later, as at first they were to young".
*Ida was the last McCausland to live on the homestead before the estate sale. Margaret McCausland reported that "her half-sister lived in the family home until her death. It had been in the family over 300 years. Property has since been sold.". Ida was left in Ireland when her father went to America. She was reared by her Aunt, Sarah McCausland. Ida lived in her Grandfather's home with Aunt Sarah & her Grandfather Alexander McCausland.
The farm bordered Robert McCausland's farm.
