Creola Daye Jones, 78, a former Falls Church resident who retired in 1984 after nearly 20 years as an administrative assistant in the office of enforcement of the U.S. Customs Service, died of lung cancer June 21 at a nursing home in Boonsboro, Md.

Mrs. Jones, who was a native of Eglon, W.Va., lived in Falls Church for 45 years before moving to Boonsboro in 1992.

She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley Lee Jones of Boonsboro; three children, Ruth Gray of Falls Church, Shirley J. Goughnour of Henrico, N.C., and Russell L. Jones of Falls Church; a brother; three sisters; six granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Another son, Robert E. Jones, died in 1996.
