REBA PAULINE MURPHY SUSOTT:

Born February 8, 1910 at home in Arcola, Ill., the daughter of Charles Robert Murphy and Cora Etta Riley Murphy. Her older brothers were Hilburn "Pat" Hugh Murphy and Harry Leonard Murphy.

She graduated in 1928 from Kokomo High School, where she was editor of the student newspaper during her Junior and Senior year. Reba graduated Valedictorian of her class. She worked after school as a reporter for the daily morning newspaper, The Kokomo Dispatch.

Reba Murphy then attended the University of Wisconsin a year and a half studying Journalism.

On December 24, 1929, she and Arthur William Susott were married in the Presbyterian manse at Logan, Ohio. At that time, Mr. Susott was the city editor of The Athens Daily Messenger and an assistant professor of Journalism at Ohio University.

After living in Atlanta, Georgia for many years, Reba and Arthur moved to Venice, Florida in 1972. She was honored with a life membership in the Venice-Nokomis Presbyterian Church.

Art and Reba were married 69 years till his death. They have 2 daughters and raised a grandchild.

Reba's hobbies were fishing, gardening, reading History and sewing.

She is survived by 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
