SERVICES TODAY FOR AMELIA CLARY PIONEER RESIDENT
CAME TO CHELAN WITH HER HUSBAND IN 1900; LIVED HERE SINCE
Mrs. Amelia Clary, 94, a resident of Chelan since 1900, died in the Chelan hospital Monday morning. She entered the hospital Sunday night. Mrs. Clary was born in Oregon and spent her early life there, moving to Goldendale at the age of 15. She was married to Josh Clary at Goldendale and they moved to Chelan in 1900 where they operated the Clary House, an early-day hotel, for many years. Mr. Clary preceded her in death. Survivors include three sisters: Mrs. Martha Howard, Berkley, California; Mrs. Edward Baker, Portland, Oregon; and Mrs. Harry Phipps, Berkley, California. Services were held Thursday morning at eleven o'clock at the Chelan Methodist Church with the Rev. JJ Ellington officiating. Burial was in the Waterville Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home of Chelan was in charge of arrangements.
