Adolph Beich

Adolph Beich, 75, of Crookston, Minnesota died in his home early Sunday morning, January 9, 2005. Adolph was born on December 2, 1929, the son of John and Hertha (Liedtke) Beich, in Goodrich, North Dakota. He grew up on farms near Cathay and Sykeston, North Dakota and graduated from Sykeston High School in 1947. Adolph went on to attend the University of North Dakota, where he received a B.S. degree in 1951 and a M.S. degree in 1952. On August 19, 1951, Adolph was united in marriage to Ruby Swenson in Grand Forks. He taught Business Education subjects in Hallock, Hibbing, and Crookston Central High School from 1952 to 1966. In 1966 Adolph became a charter faculty member of the new University of Minnesota Technical College, Crookston, where he organized the Secretarial Program and was chairperson and instructor in the department for 28 years. He was known for his sense of humor and telling stories. Adolph enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Grand Forks, where he served on the church board of trustees, the pulpit committee and taught Sunday school. Adolph was a member of the Crookston Lions Club from several years and more recently a member and past President of Golden Kiwanis. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Loving family members include his wife, Ruby; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janet Beich of Andover, MN, Kenneth and Marcy Beich of Rochester, MN, and Brian and Nancy Beich of Dellwood, MN; eight grandchildren, Tara, Anna, Nathan, David, Katherine, Matthew, Daniel and Emily; a brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Elaine Beich of Sykeston, ND; a sister and brother-in-law, Evangeline and John Wilcox of Nevada City, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Adolph was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Luella Liedtke, and Leota Liedtke; and brothers, Arnold and Milton.

The funeral service for Adolph Beich will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Church of God in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Visitation will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN, on Wednesday from 5-7:00 P.M., with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service, and also for an hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, MN.
