Son of Francis C. L. Seward & Phoebe VanDyke; husband of Louzina McDaniel. He carried mail, passengers, and merchandise between Markleville and Anderson until the railroad came through in 1887. He worked in the Markleville general store, and then moved to Anderson in 1890 where he worked for the East Hardware Company.
