Virginia "Ginger" Leigh Davis Vick, 60, died October 23, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Vick was born in Memphis, TN on December 7, 1948 to Eual Jerome Davis and Ersellee "Leigh" Moran Kendrick. Mrs. Vick graduated from Memphis Tech High School. Mrs. Vick was a Wings Volunteer for the West Clinic, Southaven, MS where she has logged over 117.5 hours of service this year. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Vick, her step-father and mother Doug and Leigh Kendrick, her son Larry (Amber) Stone, her grandson Nathan Stone, a "brother" Chris Columbus as well as many very close friends and family. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Memory Hill Gardens with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jack (Nancy) Young whom Mrs. Vick has known all of her life and considered him and his family part of her family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Wings Cancer Foundation at 100 North Humphreys, Memphis, TN 38120 or Colonial Baptist Church Choir at 1503 Colonial, Memphis, TN 38117.
