D.C. HUGHES RITES SET FOR SATURDAY
Funeral services for DC Hughes, sixty-eight, of 804 East Main Street, who died in a local hospital early this morning, will be held at 10:30 AM tomorrow at St Mary's Church with the Rev. MT Moore, of Cottonwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Ward-Wilson directing.
He suffered a stroke last Sunday night while leading prayer at St Mary's Church. A life-long resident of Cottonwood, he had moved to Dothan only eight weeks ago.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, AL Hughes and WA Hughes, both of Cottonwood; six daughters, Mrs Mack Buntin and Mrs JS Bradshaw, both of Cottonwood; Mrs IB Austin, Panama City, Miss Clyde Hughes, Mrs JT Snell, and Mrs AR Granger, all of Dothan; a brother, WS Hughes, Cottonwood; three sisters, Mrs WC Joiner and Mrs JT Howard, both of Chipley, and Mrs Claudia Harper, Dothan route two; and 16 grandchildren.
Active pallbearers: Theo Killingsworth, Gene Brown, Arix Mixon, John Franklin Lewis, Cecil Bell, JW Etheridge.
