Arlo and Ruby were married in Wichita on Pearl Harbor Day (December 7, 1941). During WWII, she was "Ruby the Riveter" at one of the local aircraft plants. After the war and Arlo's discharge from the Army Air Corps, she was a homemaker and later worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and drove a school bus. Arlo was a manager for Dillon's for many years.
Later in life he and Ruby ran a fruit stand on the corner of Greenwich Road and Harry Street until they retired in 2007. Graveside services will be held at Benton Cemetery on Saturday, July 15 2017 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruby's name may be directed to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 2872 N. Ridge Rd #122, Wichita, KS 67205.
