Ralph M. Arnold, Jr. 70, of Indianapolis, passed away April 25, 2009. He was born June 30, 1938 in Indianapolis to Ralph Murray and Katherine Isley Arnold, who have preceded him in death. Ralph was a graduate from Arsenal Technical High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He married Charlene Louise Bender, June 18, 1960. Ralph was a fireman for the Indianapolis Fire Department for 20 years, retiring as a chauffeur in 1981. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of MENSA. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington St., with funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Charlene L. Arnold; son, Michael T. Arnold; daughter, Dianna L. Arnold Bradshaw (Glynn); son, Dennis M. Arnold (Stacey); brothers, Elbert R. Arnold (Bonnie), Edwin R. Arnold (Barbara), Tony Arnold (Debbie); sisters, Susan A. Dillon (Jack), Helen E. Arnold; grandchildren, Rian Stephens, Brandon Gibson (Tonya), Dylan and McKayla Arnold; great-grandchildren, Noah Gibson and Aliah Rogers. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Michael, Robert and Bruce Arnold, and a daughter-in-law, Patty Arnold.
