Elmina Christensen Mower, 87, our dear, sweet, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, left this earth to dwell with her Heavenly Father, her eternal companion and loved ones Jan. 11, 1996. She passed the test honorably.

Born August 22, 1908 in Moroni, to Hyrum and Mary Ellen Draper Christensen. At age six her mother died, at ten her father married Malinda Bradley Ford (Aunt Linda). She was the youngest of seven children.

She married her sweetheart, Lavor Kimball Mower, in the Manti Temple March 6, 1929. He died August 17, 1973.

Elmina attended the Moroni schools, graduated from Moroni High and the LDS Seminary. As a member of the LDS Church she held many positions in the MIA and Relief Society presidencies, Gospel Doctrine teacher, served a stake mission, and with her husband served as Manti Temple Officiators.

She has great ancestors: handcart pioneers, colonizers, Mayflower Puritans. She is the mother of a great posterity. She gave legacy through example, integrity, faith, obedience and love. She was a wonderful cook, an avid reader and was very knowledgeable in the gospel. Elmina was a wonderful and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy and priority was her husband and children. She loved her family and the gospel.

Survived by five children: Edith M. Berry, Tremonton; Melvin K. Mower, Logan; Geneil M. Taylor (Gayle), Salt Lake City; Hyrum Danny Mower (Pauline), Brigham; Goldie, Sandy; 29 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Our thanks and appreciation to the staffs at Bear River Valley Hospital and Care Center for their wonderful care and love to her.

"For though I be absent in flesh, yet am I with you in spirit, joying and beholding your order and steadfastness of your faith in Christ". -Colossians 2:5 We love you, Mom. We'll miss you. You have left a great void in our lives. God be with you, till we meet again.
