OBIT OF HIS WIFE

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Gatte, 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, with Rev. Louis Charrier officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Miller French Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:30-9 p.m. today, Thursday, until time of services on Friday.
Mrs. Gatte passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, 2009, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Evelyn was born in Gotte's Cove to the late Theisac and Sidonie Daigle Gatte on Aug. 19, 1922. She was a cook by trade, but retired after many years of service. She was a very sweet and loving person who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She touched a lot of people with her warm smile and her loving heart. Evelyn will truly be missed by many who knew and loved her.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory is her beloved children, Roger (Barbara) Gatte and Terry (Marjorie) Gatte, all of Evangeline, and Phoebe Miller of Morgan City; nine beautiful grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, John Cleo Gatte.
