Margaret Ruth Cruitt was born in Millburn, N.J., on June 28, 1924, the daughter of Ellen (Farley) and Joseph Miller. After graduating from Millburn High School, she went to work for the Prudential Insurance Company. While employed by the Prudential, Ruth performed in USO shows, entertaining the troops with her dancing during World War II. It was after the war that she met and married her husband of 43 years, William B. Cruitt.
In addition to living in Millburn and Wall Township, Ruth called many places home, including, Lansdale, Pa.; Frankfurt, Germany; Paris, France; Honolulu, Hawaii, and most recently, Vero Beach, Fla. But, her heart always belonged to New Jersey.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her son, R. Kevin Cruitt; her sister, Mary Hanf and brother, Joseph Miller.
Besides spending time with her family, Ruth loved dancing, antiquing, cooking, walking on the boardwalk and Frank Sinatra. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Holy Cross Parish and in the Holy Cross Hospital Thrift Shop, both of Vero Beach, Fla.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Moran and her husband, Thomas, of Tampa, Fla. and Elizabeth Ragan and her husband, Michael, of Nashua, N.H.; her sister, Helen Schauler of Clearwater Beach, Fla.; her grandchildren, Kevin Moran, Thomas Moran and his children, Emmanuel and Nayaritt and Sean Moran of Tampa, Fla., Maura Iaquinta and her husband, John, and children, Cameron and Maxwell, Kathleen Ragan and son, William, and Casey Ragan, all of Nashua, N.H., and Patrick Ragan of Portsmouth, N.H.
