According to her PA Death Certificate Sarah Miller was born in 1895 in Slocum Twp and died of tuberculosis at White Haven Sanatorium in 1925 though the stone says differently. Her remains were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Dallas, Luzerne County, PA. She had been married to Michael Shonk Gray on 3 Feb 1918. They had three sons: Ralph in 1918, Ernest in 1921 and Leonard in 1923. Michael remarried on 27 Oct 1926. Sarah had tuberculosis for 3 years and 6 months and may have contracted it from her younger sister Josephine who died of it on 7 Dec 1922. Both had worked as nurses during WWI. According to the Census Michael and Sarah lived in Forty Fort in 1920 but he and his second wife lived in Dallas in 1930. Since Michael moved around with his employment it may be the stone was placed years later explaining the discrepancy of the birth and death years.
