Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Esther A. Prom, 79, of 220 13th Street N, who died Saturday at the Good Shepherd Home in Sauk Rapids. The Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Sauk Rapids Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by the Sacred Heart Christian Mothers (St. Monica's Society) praying at 6:30 p.m. and Sacred Heart Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Esther was born January 13, 1923, in St. Joseph to John & Bertha (Schloemer) Pogatschnik. She married Raymond F. Prom on September 23, 1943, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She was a homemaker and worked at various jobs as a waitress. She then worked for the Boulder Valley, Colorado School District as a cook from 1975 until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. She was a charter member of the St. Monica's Society (Christian Mothers) and a member of the Sauk Rapids Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond of Sauk Rapids; children, Janet (Thomas) Ryan of Boulder, CO, Thomas (Janet) of Monticello, Barbara (Verl) Bell of Dows, IA, Susan (Roger) Linz of Sauk Rapids, JoAnne (David) Mendel of St. Cloud, Kenneth (Linda) of Shoreview, Ruth (Brian) Liestman of Las Cruces, NM, David of Waite Park; sisters and brother, Magdeline Henz of Sauk Rapids, Evelyn of St. Cloud, Edwin of Avon; 17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Imelda Kampa, Yvette Koepp, and Lorraine Taufen.
