Bonham-Judge Albert S. Broadfoot, 95 of Bonham died Firday afternoon 29 Aug 1980 in Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center.
He was a former STATE REPRESENTATIVE & SIXTH DISTRICT JUDGE.
Services were at 11 AM Tuesday at the Wise Funeral Chapel.
Burial was in Willow Wild Cemetery.
Judge Broadfoot was elected county Attorney of Fannin County, Texas in 1914. The youngest county attorney in Texas History, at that time. He was reelected in 1918 . But resigned to serve in the US ARMY during WORLD WAR 1.
After his discharge he established a Private Law practice in Dallas, Texas where he married Jessie Bulter.
He returned to Bonham in 1930 & was elected county attorney for two terms.
He served two & half terms in the later 1930's as a state representative before being elected 6th District Judge in 1940, serving as judge for 12 years.
After his retirement in 1953, He recalled TP Preside over the 79th District which covers Duval County, Home base for then Politico, George B. Parr, he also presided in other Dist around the States.
Born 18 May 1885 in Selfs Communtity of Fannin County, JUDGE BROADFOOT attended MAYO COLLEGE , now EAST TEXAS UNIVERSITY.
He was a teacher in the EMBERSON SCHOOL in LAMAR COUNTY & a teacher & superintendent of the school at Leonard.
He attended the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO LAW SCHOOL & was admitted to the Texas Bar ASSOC in 1912.
He later attended the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS LAW SCHOOL.
