"MRS. NOMA S. PEACOCK
Services for Mrs. Noma S. Peacock, 57, of Jackson were held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Upton Funeral Home Chapel in Mendenhall with interment in the Pinola Cemetery.

Officiating were Rev. Harold Douglas and Rev. Cameron with Upton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Peacock died suddenly on Thursday, April 5, ' at University Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Forrest County on July 5, 1915 and was a member of the Pinola Baptist Church.

Having worked at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall for eight years as a bookkeeper, Mrs. Peacock was the second employee hired when the hospital opened.

She is survived by her husband, T. J. Peacock of Jackson; 2 daughters, Miss Catherine S. Peacock and Mrs. Mary Merck, both of Jackson; 1 brother, Grover A. Smith of Hattiesburg; and 1 grandson, Michael Merck of Jackson.
