ELZER FORTIER
EAST GARY - Elzear Fortier, 76 of 2229 Wayne, East Gary, died on Saturday afternoon in Gary's Methodist hospital after a long illness.

A retired New York Central Railroad employer, he was born in Chicago Sept. 21, 1881. His wife preceded him in death five years ago.

Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Rosemary O'Conner of East Gary, and Mrs. H. O. Goodwin of Los Angeles; three sons, Paul of Hobart, Robert of Atlanta, Ga., and Arthur of Wilmington CA.; a brother William of Sunland Calif.; two sisters Georgianna Daniels of Paramount, Calif., and Mrs. Lewis McDonald of Englewood, Calif.

Services will be held at 10 a. M. Wednesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Chesterton. The Rev. Ralph Hoffman will officiate, burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday at Carl Edmonds Funeral home, Chesterton, where friends may call from Tuesday noon until services.

ELZEAR FORTIER, 76 of 22269 Wayne Street East Gary, passed away on Sunday afternoon at Methodist Hospital.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St Patrick's church in Chesterton with Father Ralph Hoffman officiating. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, rosary services Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. at the Carl Edmonds Funeral Home.

Survivors, three sons, Arthur of U.S. Navy, Wilmington, Calif. and Paul Fortier of Hobart, Robert of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter Rosemary O'Connor of East Gary; eighteen grandchildren; one brother William Fortier of Sunland California; three sisters, Mrs Georgiana Daniels, of Paramount, Calif., Mrs. H. O. Goodwin of Los Angeles, Calif. [Note error: obit has Mrs. H.O. Goodwin as a sister and not as his daughter] and Mrs. Louis McDonald of Englewood, California.

Friends may call from Tuesday afternoon until time of service.
