Effie Hayward
Effie HAYWARD, 96, died Saturday afternoon at the I.O.O.F. Home in Greensburg, where she had resided since Aug. 12. She had spent most of her life in the Rochester community.
Born Aug. 2, 1870, in the Green Oak community, she was the daughter of Richard and Nancy HARPER VANDEGRIFT. Her marriage was Feb. 3, 1890, in this city to Calvin Boyd HAYWARD, who died May 31, 1934.
Mrs. Hayward had been a member of Evergreen Rebekah lodge here for over 50 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Guy McMILLEN, Rochester; and two sons, Richard HAYWARD, Elkhart, and Leland HAYWARD, Dyer.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Donald LAMBERT officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
