After lying about his age to join the Navy, Stanley Morgan served 27 years and retired in 1947 as an Aviation Chief Radioman. He served aboard the USS Cowpens (CVL-25)in the Pacific Theater. After retirement worked with Ira J. Vaughn repairing gas station equipment and served as a leader in Cub Scouts, Sea Scouts and a member of the Traffic Auxiliary of the Kern County Sheriff's Office. At the time of his death was employed as one of the first two Lake Attendants at the newly opened Lake Isabella. Morgan was married to Hilda and the father of Stanley, Jr., Michael and Mary. Stanley Morgan was devoted to his country, his community and to his family and was, by all accounts, a good man.
