Earnest W. Sparks, of Porum passed from this life on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the age of 83 years. He was born on February 6, 1926 in Checotah, Ok to Jess and Lula Sparks.
Earn outlived his parents, Jess and Lula Sparks and all of his siblings, brothers Raymond Sparks, Sammy "Son" Sparks and Wesley "Boyd" Sparks; and sisters Mary Thompson, Imogene Sparks, Dovie Julian Short, Bonnie Ezell and Kathryn "Kat" Stevens.
He is survived by brother's-in-law Bo Short, Wes Eqzll and Emmanuel Thompson.
He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; one special niece Tammy Hughes and her husband Jimmie Hughes, their children Shiloh and Justin; and one special nephew Ricky Sparks and his wife Becky, and their children Brandy, Samantha, Jessica, Sammy and Rickie Lynn; and many more relatives and friends.
Although all his nieces and nephews loved him dearly, Tammy and Ricky helped him throughout their adult lives as he helped them throughout theirs. He will be missed dearly; however, we can take comfort in knowing he will be looking over us forever. He will always be with us in our hearts and memories.
Funeral services for Earn will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Hampton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chuck Tankersley officiating. Casket bearers will be Chip Benton, Lloyd Benton, Justin Hughes, Sammy Sparks, Sefton Shrum, Jimmie Hughes and Cody Madewell. Interment will follow services at Pierce Cemetery, Pierce, Ok.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Mortuary, Checotah 918-473-6821.
