Edward Long Bradsher, age 86, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Person Memorial Hospital. He was born in Person County to the late John Tinsley Bradsher and Bessie Long Bradsher. He was married to Melba Brooks Bradsher. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII. Mr. Bradsher was a partner in J.T. Bradsher Plumbing and Heating with his two brothers until 1968; then established Edward Bradsher's Heating and Air until his retirement. Upon retirement he worked with Neville Heating and Air. He was a member of Roxboro Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and Chairman of the Building Committee for many years. His love of his church was demonstrated by the countless hours he spent maintaining the facility operations for years. Mr. Bradsher was ordained a deacon in 1957 and received Deacon of the Year in 1987. He was a member and past Master of the Person Masonic Lodge N. 113. He was also a member and former President of the Roxboro Shrine Club and of the Amran Temple.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Janine B. Wall and her husband, Rev. Lewis E. Wall, Sr.; Edward Long "Brad" Bradsher and his wife, Jane; Troy Weldon Bradsher and his fiancé Sharon Hall all of Roxboro; 2 grandchildren, Thomas Edward Bradsher and Zachary Oliver Bradsher; 5 step grandchildren, Lewis Wall, Jr., Andrew Wall, Ben Wall, Troy Crowder, and Pam Crowder; 8 step great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Ann Tillett of Burlington.

The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30PM Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, October 12, 2009 at Roxboro Baptist Church by Dr. DuPre Sanders and Rev. Lewis Wall, Sr. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brad Laws, David Bradsher, Marty Whitfield, Jay Neville, Lewis Wall, Jr., Stokley Davis, Thomas Bradsher, and Larry King. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class at Roxboro Baptist Church, Bill Hicks, and Hank Plott.
