"He was married to Marie Tgiros (so this is why the stepchildren). She passed away March 13, 1976. His parents were Carl and Katherine (Moeller) Meyer. Baptized May 7, 1911 - St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church - confirmed on April 10, 1927. Farmed until 1946 when he went to work at a farm supply store. In 1949 he formed the Meyer Brothers Farm Store with his brother Clarence for 14 years. Then he worked at the Oliver & White Implement Companies retiring in 1976. A retired member of the U.A.W. Local #1315 - was a charter member of Charles City Sr. Citizens, the Cedar Valley Engine Club - and the Black Hawk Engine Club (Waterloo, Iowa) (This is the reason for the old engine on the memorium.) He served 4 years on the plumbing board for the City of Charles City, Ia. Willis & Clarence put our water system in when we built the new house in April of 1955. Never was a water system here before that..."
