Born Lula Ruth Hale, she later dropped the Lula and took her maiden name as her middle name. She was born in Illinois and raised her first three sons there. After the death of her youngest son, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Here she had a daughter. She spent much of her time watching the local children whose parents worked. She was an honest and loving soul who is greatly missed.
