Son of Riley Morgan and Sarah Jane Rogers, who reside in Laurel County Kentucky. He married to Rosetta "Rosa" McKeehan of Whitley County in Jul 1898.

Rosa is the dau of Peter Tye McKeehan and Lydia Samantha Hart. She is a 2nd Cousin to my Grandfather, Benjamin Lankford McKeehan who left Kentucky and headed West prior
to 1908.

In 1918, James is age 40, family resides in Barton (Whitley County) and James is part Farmer and partly carpenter specializing in building houses. James is described as a tall man of medium build with brown eyes and greying hair; he is observed to be physically fit. Rosa and James are parents to (2) sons and (2) daus who attended school and all family members read 'n write.

15 Aug 1925, age 47, James suddenly becomes ill and dies of peritonitis resulting from kidney stones. He appeared to be healthy . . this must have been a terrible shock to his family. The (2) youngest children, now 12 & 14, are still at home, but they are old enough to be of help to Mom.

James was laid to rest in Corinth Cemetery 17 Aug 1925.
