Obit in The Correctionville News, 17 June 1965, page 1: Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Mae Nafe were held Sunday afternoon, June 13, 1965, at 2:30 p.m. from the Meadow Star E.U.B. Church in Grand Meadow Township with Rev. C.W. Kerns officiating. Interment was in Grand Meadow Cemetery under direction of Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley. Mrs. A.H. Nafe of rural Washta, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 10, 1965, at Broadlawn Manor in Kingsley at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 13 days. The daughter of William H. and Amanda (Keck) Baker was born in Benton County, Iowa, July 17, 1882. She came to Cherokee County at the age of two years and had lived in the Grand Meadow community since that time. On January 1, 1902, she married A.H. Nafe in her home in Grand Meadow Township. She has been a member of the Meadow Star E.U.B. Church since December 21, 1894, and a member of the W.S.C.S. of the church. Survivors include two sons, Carl and Floyd H. of Pierson, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Iva) Allen of LeMars, and Mrs. Rex (Elma) Klingensmith of Washta, eleven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Earl (Emma) Fuller of Washta. She was preceded by her parents, husband on August 14, 1928, one brother, Warren Baker and two sisters, Etta and Orpha.
