Billy Glynn Fowler, 74, of Rio Vista passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010, in Rio Vista with COPD. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Rosser Funeral Home. Interment: Rio Vista Cemetery. Family and friends will meet for lunch following the graveside service at the Rio Vista Civic Center at 403 Central Ave. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Briden Log Cabin Fund, P.O. Box 129, Rio Vista, Texas 76093. Mr. Fowler was born to Berton and Maggie Tucker Fowler on April 22, 1936, in Parker. Billy Glynn retired in 1998 from the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. Bill married Marquitta "Cookie" on March 8, 2001, in Rio Vista. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying travel, hunting and fishing. Mr. Fowler's strong beliefs and sense of character will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Claude Fowler; and his children's mothers, Pan Brewer Fowler and Twila Mae Fowler. Survivors: Wife, Marquitta "Cookie" Fowler; children and their spouses, Scott Fowler, Steve and Karen Fowler, Serena DeAnn and Bruce Bailey and Lesa and Mark Adams; stepchildren and their spouses, Monte and Kathy Schmitt, Wayne and Chris Schmitt, Michele Burch, Paul Frazier, and Kimberly Bland; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings and their spouses, Margie and Odell Hall, Dorothy Lucus, Charles Ray and Mary Frances Fowler; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
