FREIGHT ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF RIVERSIDE MAN

A man who fell off a freight train to his death near Pomona last week, has been identified as Ernest H. Hannon of Riverside, the Los Angeles county coroner's office announced this week.
A brother, John Hannon, of Altadena, identified the body.
Hannon, 56, evidently fell off the freght train early Wednesday morning, but was not found until Wednesday (February 4, 1942) afternoon. Deputies said train wheels had shredded the edges of his coat and trousers but had not passed over any part of his body, indicating he fell from a moving train almost against the tracks.

Note: according to family records, Ernie was cremated, but the disposition of his ashes remains unknown.

Ernest H. Hannon was married twice:
first to Lily Trent about 1908 in Bentonville, Arkansas
second to Daisy Osborn about 1930 in Oklahoma

He had no children.
