He was born February 6, 1904, in Fulton County, the son of George L. and Estella J. (Miller) Fouts. He married Winnie V. Thomas on January 1, 1928 in Cuba. She died December 31, 1995.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Fouts; four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Kay (Richard) Long of Canton; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-granchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was a member of Shield's Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Canton.
He was a lifelong farmer in Fulton County and a charter member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau.
A celebration of life service was held December 28 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, Rev. Jay Curry officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton.
Memorials may be made to Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
